Good for him. He offers a decent amount of help to people who really need it. He's extremely good at promoting himself and his site.

I chuckled at the line about the LSE student union of the time being dominated by leftists and Martin sorting them out. It was quite the opposite. The Tories ran the union, the lefties yelled a bit from the sidelines, and Martin fitted right in.

MSE is still my go-to for a good overview of most financial stuff (bank accounts, savings, tax, insurance). I really can't think of another place where you can find comprehensive, objective info on all that.

The forums are a surprisingly good source of advice on all sorts of diverse things. I mean, I wouldn't go looking there but it's amazing how often a Google search for a question hits a reasonable answer in the MSE forums, given the size of the global data pile it's sitting in.

You do know that Google search results vary by searcher? Give us some general keywords and let's see how highly his results rank for different members here!
