It's been a crazy week in America. Let's find out what happened!

Maybe you didn't know you needed a ribbon and sparkle-suit clad Black woman who can explain why using police as debt collectors leads to the killing of Black people in one breath, then bust out a retro R&B jam for the vaccinated in the next. But The Amber Ruffin Show is the special blend of silly and serious we all needed. Launched during the pandemic, the Emmy-nominated show returns on Peacock tonight with its first-ever live studio audience. posted by DirtyOldTown (10 comments total) 38 users marked this as a favorite

Also... Remember that episode of Ted Lasso we all loved last week? Ashley Nicole Black wrote that. She writes for the show. And that epic , exquisitely researched, hilarious rant on the 1619 project and terrible racist old textbooks we loved here on the blue? That was by Michael Harriot. He writes for the show, too.

It's a shame I already write up Last Week Tonight every week, I have to fight the urge to add yet another show to my Fanfare plate.

Amber and Lacey's book is not to be missed. Hilarious and infuriating. You learn quickly why Amber ends every show with a refreshing adult beverage.
