What Would Wink Do?

The Bush/Cheney campaign lets you look up campaign donors on their web page. With its help, we can now answer the burning question "Forget about me...who does the incredibly popular, beloved-by-millions television personality Wink Martindale support?"
Now we know.
Ah, to bask in Wink World for but a moment, is a grand thing indeed.
I wonder where all of the Whammy's money is going. Sharpton?

I like how the front page is optimized for 800 pixels so that when you stretch your window wider, you can cut Dubya in half. Yes, simple pleasures for me today, thank you.

Hey everybody: go to Wink's website and check out his written words of wisdom. My personal favorite was the piece entitled "What Andy Rooney Might Have Said." Just go to "Wink's Readings."

I was a contestant on the short-lived gameshow Debt and all the people who worked on the show kept saying "oh, just wait till you meet Wink. He's the best." And sure enough, he was. Classy fellow, that Martindale.

Dubya -- and his wife; whatshername -- doesn't appear to have contributed to his own re-election*. (But, then again, the prodigal son has never played with his own money, so...)

well jesus, lupus_yonderboy - the first couple is only making $400 grand per annum! that's peanuts compared to what dubyuh was able to scam out of the taxpayers for his baseball stadium. life was better when he was self employed.

Well, one supposes someone named "Wink" can't be all bad, despite his/her thoughtless political sympathies.

The money is being generated by a roll call of top leaders in the finance, insurance, law and construction industries, all of whom will have used their powerful networks of friends and colleagues to "bundle" small donations into much larger total contributions....In addition, the Bush campaign will be able to draw from a pool of donors that includes many Wall Street executives who were forbidden by securities regulations from contributing to the 2000 campaign, when Mr. Bush was still the governor of Texas. (The rule forbids people in the financial industry from contributing to anyone with influence over bond issues.) These newly eligible donors alone will account for nearly $1 million in bundled contributions at the New York fund-raiser...."George W. Bush’s fund-raising is going to haunt him in this Presidential campaign, because the only Americans he’s helped as President are his contributors," said David Wade, a spokesman for Senator John Kerry’s Presidential campaign. "The Rangers and Pioneers he’s rewarded with special-interest tax policies love George Bush, but it’s the 2.7 million Americans who lost their jobs on his watch who aren’t so happy."
