Most excellent! I wish I could get a grip on simple animation, cause I love this stuff to death. posted by thirteen at 4:16 PM on August 22, 2003
I liked it. I'm completely clueless when it comes to this sort of thing...is that done with Flash or ???
P.S. Needs more cowbell. posted by mathis23 at 4:20 PM on August 22, 2003
so much fun! i dug christopher walkens in the spike jonze video. thanks. posted by izzytn8 at 4:24 PM on August 22, 2003
interesting concept, but so much of the appeal for me was in seeing christopher walken dancing around. this loses something in the translation. posted by pxe2000 at 4:27 PM on August 22, 2003
yes, loved it! and like thirteen, i didn't know how difficult even simple stick-figure animation could be until i began messing around with flash. he/she/they did a fantastic job mimicking the subtle gestures of the human [stick] body.
oh, and does anyone have a link to the original jonze video? i only saw it once and have always wanted to see it again. thx. posted by poopy at 4:29 PM on August 22, 2003
That must have taken some time to do. I sort of wish he'd substituted a different stickfigure in a few places so that this video had a stunt double for some of the more aggressive jumping moves the same way the video did.
Still, that's pretty funny. posted by willnot at 4:39 PM on August 22, 2003
Oh, and original video seems to be available here. posted by willnot at 4:41 PM on August 22, 2003
bless your soul willnot... beautiful, just beautiful. when i die, i'll do it dancing like walken. posted by poopy at 4:47 PM on August 22, 2003
The stick figure has got more rhythm than Walken. Did anyone else think of Kubrick's "Shining" while watching the original video? posted by 111 at 4:52 PM on August 22, 2003
I agree with pxe2000... (even if it does sound like I'm agreeing with a vacuum cleaner.) posted by crunchland at 4:53 PM on August 22, 2003
