Thanks anastasiav -- I know what I'm doing for the rest of the afternoon!

For anyone who lives in Los Angeles or will be visiting in the next few months, a few of these images (such as one of the Austrian war loan appeals by Maximillian Lenz) will be on display in their original lithographic formats at the L.A. County Museum of Art* in an exhibition called "Images of Persuasion," which features recent donations of early 20th century posters (primarily German and Austrian) from the 1890s to 1930s.

*Full disclosure: I work at LACMA, and the curator of this show is a good friend of mine.

Ah, now this is really a fascinating find. I especially enjoyed the Allied post cards with the flags/soldier of multiple nations. Excellent!

I had forgotten that Japan was counted among the allies in WWI.

[this is good]
