Le mur des je t'aime. 'In a world marked by violence and dominated by individualism, walls, like frontiers, are usually made to divide and to separate people and to protect them from one another. On the contrary, le mur des je t'aime (The Wall of I love Yous) is a link, a place of reconciliation, a mirror which reflects an image of love and peace. '
A Montmartre wall of calligraphic 'I love you's in 280 languages.

why write when you can say it! "Tholos is 'a 3-metre high, 360-degree screen that sends and receives images between two locations, in effect providing a window between the two cities. If you're in London, you'll be able to walk up to the screen and have a chat with someone in Vienna, as though you were meeting in the town square. A panoramic view of the other city will be visible in the background, and it will always be on.'"
rather than reflect, see through :D

Do you think the first guy wrote it, and then the smart janitor came along and wrote it in the other 279 langauges just to show off?

Nice find, plep. If anybody wants to know what the languages are, try here (and if you like one, you can send it to someone).

I note they call Burmese "Myanmar," which is silly and which demonstrates the folly of giving in to the mandates of juntas—you start out calling a country something new and weird and wind up using it where it makes no sense whatever.
