I can't look at a bonsai without wishing I could set it free into a miniature world where it could live out its life, large and imposing and robust, unaware that it had been cruelly dwarfed.
But that's just me, on this particular sunday afternoon. posted by Opus Dark at 5:09 PM on October 17, 2004

Hot damn! What a gorgeous site! Makes me want to put some time in on my trees, shame its raining and dark out. posted by fenriq at 7:57 PM on October 17, 2004
I was able to check out 4 120-year-old bonsai trees at the Sun Yat Sen gardens in Vancouver. They are incredible, an amazing blend of art and natural beauty. Aged, dignified trees the like of which you may have camped underneath, except shrunk to coffee table size.
I can't recommend highly enough: if you ever get a chance to see an exhibit, go for it.
