1998 was a great year for web designers.

The application might turn me into the next J.S. Bach, but the horrible color scheme and interface makes me want to die.

Some time laterNo, I've spent 20 minutes trying to figure it out, I've made absolutely squat worth considering, even trying to be patient with the abortive intefrace. I checked out all of the sample midi tunes and, in a fit of self-loathing, the author's recommended mp3 output. They're all awful.

Fractal does not mean random.

svidrigailov23, thank you for this link! I actually find those
fractal tunes quite charming in a windchimey kind of way with 'Fibonacci rain shower' sounds, just my cup of science whimsy tea.

I opened the program and chased that "your trial period will start now!" window around my screen about thirty times. The first thing I noticed about the program was the annoying interface. But then I clicked one of the drop down menus and saw a long list of tunings to play with, even gamelan tuning. I then proceeded to click randomly through a maze of confusing but fascinating music theory options. When I clicked the play button, the music that came out was actually quite nice. It was really nice. This is actually by far the best computer-generated music I've ever heard.
