Yes, this is an hilarious video. I've had it on my desktop at work for the past few years, and watch it whenever I need a good laugh. The internet is a vast repository of silly cat stuff (blatant self-link to a long list of cat-related stuff, most of it goofy). posted by jdroth at 1:53 PM on July 8, 2005
I played this with the sound off expecting it to have some kind of America's Funniest Videos soundtrack to it- I think the silence makes it better.
I was ready to write some snarky comment about how this is stupid, right up until the part where the cat jumps out of the bushes onto the baby. That's where I cracked up in the middle of my office. posted by XQUZYPHYR at 1:54 PM on July 8, 2005
My wife sent me this one awhile ago.
I love it, it makes me laugh every time. I love cats. posted by teece at 1:54 PM on July 8, 2005
Maybe YOU'RE stupid, mister-is-edinburgh-near-london. ;) posted by Pretty_Generic at 1:59 PM on July 8, 2005
The version with yakitty-sacks as a soundtrack is far superior.
Does the cat-throwing bit worry anyone? posted by Four Flavors at 2:03 PM on July 8, 2005
Nope, Four Flavors, she tossed the cat gently, and seeing it dangle there was one of the clips that made me laught the hardest. That and the one where the cat leaps out at the baby. posted by Specklet at 2:07 PM on July 8, 2005
P_G: that was a desperately needed laugh. Hope it lifts other's spirits, too. Thanks. posted by tidecat at 2:11 PM on July 8, 2005

jdroth: I see you have "teasing cat" on your site. My favorite cat video ever. posted by peep at 3:05 PM on July 8, 2005
OK, I grudgingly opened IE as well to watch this, and as it started I thought "this is dumb". Then, as it went on, I started to chuckle and laugh a bit. Something about the sum of the parts.... posted by Eekacat at 3:08 PM on July 8, 2005
Joining in the fun with a blatant self-link: no pictures, just an old story about my brother's cat George. Possibly worth a grin or two... posted by djwudi at 3:12 PM on July 8, 2005
I laughed many times. THANK YOU! posted by boymilo at 3:28 PM on July 8, 2005
You know, I always preferred that cat to his girl counterpart. posted by Pretty_Generic at 3:41 PM on July 8, 2005
Hilarious video -- made the rounds at work a while back. Though my heart goes out to that poor kitty who encountered the cactus. Those were some fast-movin' paws! posted by DakotaPaul at 4:19 PM on July 8, 2005
Great vids and pictures. I really, really wish we'd managed to get video of the day my mother's 30lb ball of pure feline evil chased a pair of full grown Labs away from our yard by running full-tilt down the gravel driveway while dragging a 15lb metal toolbox behind him (he was tied to it with about 20ft of rope so he wouldn't go under the house). The dogs' owners just stood there and laughed. posted by chickygrrl at 4:42 PM on July 8, 2005
Your mother's 30lb ball of pure feline evil looks like one mean motherfucker! Good for her! posted by ericb at 8:57 PM on July 8, 2005
The soundtrack is hideous, spare yourself.
The images are funny/cute, basically just a lot of cats being cats.
Made me wanna go play with mine. posted by signal at 9:23 PM on July 8, 2005
I'm a dog guy. I hate cats. Except those cats (on the video) which are hilarious or any cats I've actually gotten to know. posted by Carbolic at 10:04 PM on July 8, 2005
I love that video.
Is there one floating around with dogs? she asked hopefully. posted by Savannah at 10:10 PM on July 8, 2005
