Say-So. This simple little web-application is a little bit like Ask.MeFi, but without the MeFi.

Quite a lot like Ask MeFi.

Yep. So far Ask.Mefi is in the lead with answers.

'Course Sayso is only a few days old. I like the yes/no/maybe approach.

Say-So developer Nate here. Just to point out, Say-So is a remix of a number of different things - a couple of random stuffs one might be interested in:
- Comments can be structured into 1-3 columns, labeled in any way
- Posts and comments can be made anonymous
- There are *private* Say-Sos that are only shared with whomever the poster wishes
- We have some interesting options for inviting friends to participate... check out the printable flyer (photo) with tear-off URL tabs
- More on the way, it's a free-form thing that we have ideas for, but we are really interested to know what folks want

Also seems like there's not much in the way of moderation, I came across an "answer" by an individual calling himself "Fuck", and the answer provided was "Nigger"...

It would seem that without a required registration process, the propensity for answers of that manner is really high. It's pretty slick though. I doubt that any one from these neck of the woods will spend much time over there but it's simple and I'd think it would do well with a little help.

Yeah that is a problem. We do have comment moderation, but it's up to the original poster to use it. As much as I dislike that kind of noise, I greatly prefer the ability to post anon.

ok, maybe I spoke too soon.

It doesn't seem too bad. Slick. And I haven't seen a JRun error yet. But, yes, you don't get that five-dollar better-than-nothing moron-filter.

Is there a way to browse by date or can you only view the last 10 questions and search by keyword?

Why don't you ask Say-So?

We are working on a "more..." for the bottom of each of the three lists right now. Thanks for suggestion!

"HOW SHOULD I STOP URMOM FROM BEING SO LOUD WHEN I GIVE HER ANAL"

Truly one of the great mysteries of our age.

Neat idea. Shame it's filled with trolls and idiots. Hopefully it can attract a higher caliber of user.

"a little bit like Ask.MeFi, but without the MeFi" is exactly the problem. Metafilter is a community -- love it or hate it -- and so Ask.MeFi has a social screen that maintains a slightly higher level of quality for both questions and answers. You can't program that.

Nice app, though.

I can imagine the private say-so's are a little less full of noise than the public ones. You would already have a community contributing in that case. Ask.Mefi is good because that community is probably larger than a group of your friends, and has a more varied background of contributers. Still, I think this has a lot of promise.

I'm getting less and less enamored with the idea of complete anonymity as time goes on. We just has a local political blog closed down because it was run with antonymous users and contained incessant, unfounded, vicious attacks on local politicians right before the election. It seems like there is a switch in many people's heads that goes off when they think they can't be held accountable.

I would be interested in seeing a large scale operation that works effectively even though the members are anonymous.

I want a five-dollar moron filter when I'm driving to work.

PMSL!

I think Say-So will be a success though. Good luck to 'em.
