Mickey gets the left and right channels and Robert just gets one? And which is supposed to be the charismatic one?

Who?

Which is the easy and snarky thing to say, of course, but am I supposed to know or care who these two are? Is it another of my seemingly random but myriad blog(blind)spots? Have I lost my bloglicity and blogvealed my unblogorificality?

I agree with stavros in that I'd like to know who these folks are, first. I don't have a lot of time for listening or watching footage if I don't know that it'll be interesting.

Instead of showing how you cool and detached you are (while posting on Mefi) by asking who these guys are you could just type their names into Google...

Still, this doesn't translate well at all. TV is for pretty people with pretty smiles who're used to speaking in front of an audience.

I'm not detached, nor am I cool. I'm very mildly annoyed by lazy posts to Metafilter's front page, though, and I sometimes respond with gentle chiding and avuncularly sarcastic quips.

And so it ends, I'd venture. No bang, no whimper, no wife, no horse, no moustache.

Robert Wright

"Robert Wright, a Schwartz Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation, is the author of Nonzero: The Logic of Human Destiny and The Moral Animal: Evolutionary Psychology and Everyday Life, both published by Vintage Books."

Mickey Kaus

"Kaus writes "Kausfiles." He has written about public policy for Newsweek and several other publications, including the New Republic and the Washington Monthly, where he remains a contributing editor. Kaus published The End of Equality in 1992. The book was co-winner of the 1992 Washington Monthly Political Book Award. Kaus currently lives in Los Angeles."

I thought it was an interesting approach to video blogging.

Wow, that was boring. And the WMV format made it even worse.

yes, cool and detached. that's me. instead of just, as I already fucking said, pressed for time. It takes 15 seconds to post a qustion on mefi, instead of the several minutes to research who they are myself.

oh, AND it helps future posts to be as informative.

but thanks for the constructive comment.
