"Officers have even taken a large yam - a staple of African diet - into custody." Need I really say anything else?

Normally I'd credit this story to Badassmofo, but then they rip stories from of Metafilter all the time.

Oh well.

This must be the greatest news story I've ever read. They watched the kid change. Amazing. This can only be the work of....Willy Wonka!

Of course, no one would ever listen to accusations like that in an enlightened country such as the U.S.

Hey, Nigeria's a hotbed for this kind of criminal activity. Check out this related story about a woman who magically stole a man's penis.

At first, this seemed like a funny story. Then I read the second paragraph... The woman was arrested, without any evidence of the "theft," after being "stripped and beaten by a mob before being dragged down a busy road half-naked." It's about as funny as burning people at the stake.

Do I smell "pop quiz" anywhere in this story?

Perhaps the candy was part of a shipment from Honeydukes that got misdirected.

Let's not forget that burning people at the stake really is quite funny, as the formula tells us. Tragedy + time = comedy.

And why use magic to steal a penis when a plain old knife will do? Granted, its not always as reliable, but what a waste of perfectly good magic....
