Silly name, but fun all the same ... Free web (2.0, natch) chat site that allows users to search for chat rooms based on tags or to set up their own room(s) that are either public or private.

And lo and behold, 'twas his fingr!

With frames and javascript, I made a chat room system like this in....1997? I don't know the actual time, as it was when Netscape 3.0 was the standard browser, and everything's a blur of frustration and tears around that era in history.

"AOL? Is that you? It's been so long! Come in, come in. Sit by the fire and get warm. I'll get some cocoa brewing while you tell me about your travels. Really, AOL, it's nice to have you back."

You can insert pictures in the chatroom... that can be abused easily

Quite interesting that I join and there are already 2 people named dios.

I need to start a fan club for sure.

The MetaFilter chatrooms have the most activity. MetaFilter chatting about Metafilter in a MetaFilter post on the site the post was about... whoa, how meta.

Wow, there's like 2 rooms and nobody in any of them. Except somebody from the same state as me.

Good idea, great execution.

Their obvious next step is analingr and cunnilingr for the gay and lesbian communities.

Lame. Please stop including the "2.0" after "web."

hum. Metafilter Lingr has two people in it, leaving it in an open tab "to see if anyone comes along."

If one of these sites came along and thought to think "hey, I'll make this integrate with Jabber so this site isn't just yet another soon-to-be-forgotten adventure in javascript", that would be interesting.
