Rob Fisher's combination of computer technology and art was a pioneering fusion in sculpture. His work has been exhibited all over the world. He died last week of sudden cardiac death.

Same vague decorative large-scale shit that gets so many public & private commissions. If it doesn't make you seriously re-examine & question your beliefs & assumptions, then do us all a favor and don't call it art.

Oh, so a painting by Rembrandt makes you seriously re-examine & question your beliefs and assumptions? About what, exactly? The use of chiaroscouro in the 16th century?

Please.

Sometimes the only function of art is to make something beautiful.

Stupidest thing I've heard all day. Thanks.

Wow. Thanks guys. That was very constructive commentary on the death of a great artist. Is it snark day at MeFi? What a bunch of $%ers.
