I'm an amendment to be - Yes an amendment to be. And I'm hoping that they'll ratify me.
With political pressure towards signing bills becoming more relevant in the Rovian era of politics (example), will we see a shift in Congressional jurisprudence on issues such as Social Security, The War in Iraq (nytimes op-ed reg req), Ethics in the 110th?
Perhaps Public Perception has a lot to do with it. Of course, some loopholes couldn't hurt.
I'm an amendment to be... and I'm hoping that they'll SPELL ME RIGHT.

I was actually thinking about the Simpsons clip the other day, and the sort of bizarre predictive nature of Bart's comment:
"We need another Vietnam to thin out their ranks."

A shift in what? I don't follow you? Are you saying they will shift from bills to amendments? Where would they get the votes to ratify amendments?
Is there going to be a shift from Bush's sign everything policy now that the GOP can no longer produce his tailor made bills? Well, duh, where have you been for the last election cycle?

Congressional jurisprudence?
Sure, it's code-named AEDPA. At least it's written down, unlike presidential jurisprudence.

Congressional jurisprudence?
Yes, it's a lot like executive legislation.

mek -- you are so right! My bad. The "I'm Just a Bill" has been parodied elsewhere!
