Link for those who didn't read the title and actually expected something about polka, bowling, and kielbasa. posted by Alvy Ampersand at 10:41 AM on April 26, 2007
Listen, I hate burst Cleveland's bubble, but the capital of bowling and polka is actually Milwaukee.
Although they can have the Kielbasa. Who needs 'em when ya can have a beer brat? posted by fridayinjune at 10:43 AM on April 26, 2007
See, this is why I'm glad I live in Chicago. I really want Obama to win the primary, but I really want to vote for Kucinich. Best of both worlds! posted by Squid Voltaire at 10:45 AM on April 26, 2007
Cheney first, then Bush. Good strategy. "President Cheney" just ... ewww. Makes my teeth hurt, like fingernails on a blackboard. posted by mr_crash_davis at 10:56 AM on April 26, 2007 [1 favorite]
Kucinich in '16! posted by Dizzy at 11:02 AM on April 26, 2007
If these articles don't get passed, Kucinich could make a career out of submitting new articles of impeachment on all-new charges each time.
I daresay he wouldn't run out of charges before January 20, 2009. posted by lostburner at 12:02 PM on April 26, 2007
If you cut off the head*, the body will die.
If it were a real body. We're dealing with a slime mold here, it sprouts new parts (and scandals) constantly. posted by IronLizard at 12:13 PM on April 26, 2007
why cleveland is the capital of polka, bowling and kielbasa.
Because Denver and Detroit already had dibs on the Capital of All Things That Suck; and polka, bowling and kielbasa was all that was left in the hat. posted by MiltonRandKalman at 12:16 PM on April 26, 2007
Cleveland once held the 3rd largest Hungarian population of any city in the world (behind Budapest and Miskolc). (This is notable because Cleveland is not actually in Hungary.) posted by Wolfdog at 12:41 PM on April 26, 2007

Actually, have you seen Kucinich's wife? She's a total babe. And nice, too, not to mention smart as hell.
(We're in his district, and call him, affectionately, "our little moonbat." Looooove Dennis. Or Dennis!, as his constituents say, since that's what's on his bumper stickers). posted by bitter-girl.com at 12:43 PM on April 26, 2007 [1 favorite]

I choose to interpret that as an example of his tolerance, and willingness to support the interests of his constituents even when his own interests are opposed. posted by davejay at 1:00 PM on April 26, 2007
I dunno why everyone is so excited, Pelosi already promised no impeachment as part of her election campaign/speaker appointment. posted by IronLizard at 1:24 PM on April 26, 2007

I've just been reading Michael Ruhlman's book, 'House', discovered, I think, as a consequence of something somebody said about him here on Metafilter.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and it made me want to live in Cleveland as well. (Provided I can also have a substantial Victorian pile on Millionaire's Row, that is.) posted by PeterMcDermott at 5:25 PM on April 26, 2007
God I love that man. I've often wondered what would have happened if he had run against and beaten Bush in 2000. We had a surplus, and he had ideas for sound social programs. And, tho it may seem crass to consider this, would there have been a 9/11 without Bush? posted by es_de_bah at 6:19 PM on April 26, 2007
You could, PeterMcDermott. Compared to the rest of the country it's crazy cheap here. The house I bought in 1997 for 70K would've gone for double that in any other major market, on the *low* end.
Michael Ruhlman is cool, too. Have you checked out his blog? Anthony Bourdain has guestblogged a few times recently, always very funny. posted by bitter-girl.com at 9:41 AM on April 27, 2007
