Now I don't have to scream "I can't find the hip hop I need" at the top of my lungs. Thank you, klangklangston. posted by clockwork at 7:37 PM on April 28, 2007
Nice post. I finally picked up a copy of James Chang's Can't Stop Won't Stop recently, which I would recommend to anyone needing a social overview of the Bronx in the 70s or LA in the late 80s/early 90s (the 15th anniversary of the riots is tomorrow, April 29th, by the way), but mainly what it reminded me is that I love the music that I started with from the early 80s. Kurtis Blow, Afrika Baambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, Funky 4 + 1... that music always makes me happy. posted by sleepy pete at 8:03 PM on April 28, 2007

basicchannel, some people just need to make sure that you know that they know that they think they actually know something. It's OK, don't let it bother you. posted by sleepy pete at 12:44 AM on April 29, 2007
Well, c'mon, everybody knows that tight trousers and hiphop just don't go together! When was the last time you saw a hiphop artist in tight trousers, fer chrissakes? posted by flapjax at midnite at 1:01 AM on April 29, 2007
This has been a good week on MeFi for the sort of music I like.
