Plastic bag folding; you knew it had to come to a clever conclusion. It did not disappoint. posted by Tube at 7:44 PM on May 16, 2007
This site is reminiscent of another that I linked to about a year ago. It was also short on content at the time, and has added a lot since then. posted by flapjax at midnite at 7:46 PM on May 16, 2007
This could still use a lot of content. I was sad to see that "Academia > Art" had zero videos. My inner nerd is crying. posted by grapefruitmoon at 7:49 PM on May 16, 2007

I was prepared to mock the plastic bag video, but was thwarted by the fact that it's, well, adorable. posted by carmen at 7:56 PM on May 16, 2007
I was feeling the snark rise after a few seconds of the plastic bag video--I mean, how anal can you get? But the result was damn impressive. Great for traveling, especially if you're going to be carrying around a wet swimsuit later.
You're not wrong it's similar flapjax at midnite. Yours has elfin woman going for it too. posted by tellurian at 8:10 PM on May 16, 2007
Yours has elfin woman going for it too.
Yeah, she was quite the little meme there for awhile! Wonder whatever happened to her? Hope she's gotten lots of rewarding roles! posted by flapjax at midnite at 8:14 PM on May 16, 2007
Nice find! I especially enjoyed the standing wave demonstrations, they reminded me of highschool-era dreams of conducting my own infrasound experiments. Maybe when I find time to fold the plastic bags in my closet I'll get around to that also. posted by waxboy at 8:17 PM on May 16, 2007
It should have immediate links to the really cool stuff, like the plastic bag folding.

Uh... why was I here again? Oh yeah, plastic ba... no, that's not it. Ok, bye website.
Feature some content on the home page and you might have a change. Might. posted by killThisKid at 9:46 PM on May 16, 2007
I'm going to have to struggle with myself to resist trying a bag fold.
How fatuously elegant! I like how she had some prepared earlier. posted by peacay at 10:13 PM on May 16, 2007
The bag folding video reminded me of that bit "The Anal Retentive Chef" that Phil Hartman used to do on SNL, where he carefully double or triple bagged every bit of scrap and then taped and stapled it neatly shut before putting it in the trash. posted by Rhomboid at 11:52 PM on May 16, 2007
Just a pity you can't actually read the title of the video before clicking on it. As it stands, they're all entitled, "How to do/make a.." posted by Lezzles at 12:39 AM on May 17, 2007

that was cute, but i think the folding plastic bags so you end up with a little triangle is the better way. posted by snofoam at 4:22 AM on May 17, 2007
I love the idea of instructional videos online, but I don't understand what this site can offer that isn't already available from YouTube, Google Video, Revver, Metacafe, etc., etc. All the organizational/navigational design and technical infrastructure has already been done a zillion times, often better. Which leaves the social/cultural/community aspects for doFlick.com to distinguish itself. Those things are important, but doFlick doesn't seem to have any of the social features you'd expect - no forums, no contact lists, no feeds/subscriptions, no recommendations, etc.
I think if I could motivate myself to fold all my plastic bags in that nifty and efficient way everything in my life would become aligned and I would achieve a state of nirvana.
Whew! No kidding. Metagals, if you want to make your man frisky just throw down a little of that. posted by Turtles all the way down at 7:05 AM on May 17, 2007
