Isn't it purty?"

I always get in trouble when I carve kids with chainsaws.

Hey! That chainsaw sounds just like a lyrebird imitating a chainsaw!

I liked the nude carving in the background better than the owl.

There's a guy in Stowe, Vermont that does the same thing. I only see bears when I drive by, but they're huge and the detail is amazing.

Nice work, but it would be better if he used an electric chainsaw. That two stroke Husqvarna is putting out a nasty plume of stink and haze.

I liked the nude carving in the background...

Chainsaw carving in the nude could be pretty dangerous, though.

In the downtown area of London, Ontario, a man with a chainsaw is turning the trunks of dead trees into sculptures. I passed scaffolding wrapped around an eighteen-foot tree trunk, across from the old library, a couple days ago. The man atop the scaffolding was arranging his equipment. I didn't stop to wait for the noise or watch how he does it.
