Lastgraph

Lastgraph takes your username at Last.fm and generates a beautiful chart of your musical listening habits. [via]

Makes me want to listen to more music (or at least fire up the Last.fm client more often)!

Whoops. Missed that thread somehow (and I love this stuff).

(I think, though, that is new, isn't it, in that this site allows you to make your own Last.fm visualizations?)

(Yes. At least on MeFi :)

Can't wait to see mine.

I did mine a while back. It really doesn't turn out well when you have a varied and sporadic listening habits.

Oh no. I have waited for 50 minutes and now it says "Error: Last.fm temporarily unavailable. Will retry in 5 minutes."

It's quite slow but worth the wait: the graphs are really purdy.

This went around a while back (with user-specific graphs). It really wasn't posted here?

My place in the queue keeps yoyoing, wtf?
posted by Alvy Ampersand at 5:53 AM on September 20, 2007

Mine too - been in the 70s in the queue for well over an hour. Popular little app...
posted by iconomy at 7:00 AM on September 20, 2007

My fault, probably, sorry. When I popped mine in the queue before I posted it here, it was #1 off the get-go, and rendered in about a minute.

Now I'm just getting a 503 - Bad Gateway error.

*Glares at stavros*

Yeah, it's down now. Too bad.

Man, what the fuck do I have to do? It keeps telling me to enter a valid date. I've tried both Euro and American ordering.

must.. keep.. paranoia.. in check..

Well suck it haters, because I'm down to #56 in the queue after only 2 hours and 45 minutes. Anyone that comes along and closes this window will be very sorry.

dangit you guys!! it used to work fine... metadotted.

last.fm has had some problems over the last week so that may be adding to the fun.

Well at least nobody's jumping ahead of m

HOLY FUCK THAT'S A LOT OF QUEUE

I'm at position 40 but I have to leave work in 3 hours. I don't think I'm going to make it.
posted by iconomy at 10:40 AM on September 20, 2007

S'purdy once it gets done - sorry about the glare, stavros. Unfortunately, I only graphed from a year ago rather than my sign-up date, so now I'm at #220.

There's calendar links next to the input boxes, but for some reason the format is YYYY/MM/DD.

stavros broke it!

The Perils Of Success. LastGraph will be down for a few days while I sort out somewhere better for it to run. It’s been using this servers’ resources massively, and there’s about 35GB of data now (over a gig of which is raw XML).

I’ll be relaunching with the new rewritten version, and automatic expiry of graph storage, to hopefully keep things more sane. If I can afford it, I may move to using something like Amazon S3 for storage, to avoid these issues.

502 Bad Gateway

Nobody ever got fired for buying Dell.

And I thought I waited a long time when the queue was 20 something.

I listen to metal.

I want my graph to be black, with blood red graph lines. Bonus points if they work in a skull somehow.
