Oh, Konata has to be behind this. posted by darksasami at 3:09 PM on September 24, 2007
Delivers what it promises, horribly enough. posted by boo_radley at 3:12 PM on September 24, 2007 [1 favorite]
That was pretty hilarious actuary. posted by hellphish at 3:15 PM on September 24, 2007
DarkSasami is right. This looks like Konata's work.
That's not just any anime girls. It's Kagami and Tsukasa from Lucky☆Star. posted by Steven C. Den Beste at 3:16 PM on September 24, 2007
What the heck was making that really angry groaning noise? The thing riding the tank? posted by CitrusFreak12 at 3:18 PM on September 24, 2007
The mooing is coming from the bipedal walking tanks, which are from Metal Gear Solid 4. The biological component of them is similar to a cow, so
ok I need to stop there and go do something useful. posted by tumult at 4:09 PM on September 24, 2007
This kind of went from amusing to disturbing and 'right round the back entrance to amusing again.
After seeing that, YouTube wanted me to watch something called "Sailor Moon Tourniquet Evanesence" which isn't nearly as interesting as you'd think. posted by ardgedee at 4:57 PM on September 24, 2007
Yatta!
You're responsible for this? posted by dreamsign at 5:16 PM on September 24, 2007
Yatta!
I've seen a lot of this because of Heroes. Hiro yells "Yatta!" with fists in the air, and nobody bothers to read the captions and assumes it's the Japanese version of "Woohoo!"
I assume there were captions... either that or I googled it. posted by CitrusFreak12 at 8:10 PM on September 24, 2007

Well prayed.
I'm so sorry. posted by emelenjr at 8:11 PM on September 24, 2007
See? If Japanese don't like you're game, all you need to do is stick some cute anime girls with ka-razy hair in it and it's instant win. Or they could just pirate it and mod it themselves, whatever.
It was funny to hear CJ shouting insults in the background. I think the Japanese voices were just dubbed in after the video was taken from the game. posted by Talanvor at 1:25 AM on September 25, 2007
I was, of course, ironically using a Japanese phrase that now seems to becoming increasingly common outside of Japan but becoming devoid of its original meaning or use, to make an ironic comment on the innate coolness (or not) of just mindlessly adding anime elements to a video game. Yes, that was it. Yatta! posted by fearfulsymmetry at 2:11 AM on September 25, 2007
Well, if you wanted to say 'cool' in Japanese, you could say:'
おもろい、ナー、これ!

Actually, "cool" (meaning neat, nifty) in Japanese is Kakkoi. posted by Steven C. Den Beste at 6:16 PM on September 25, 2007
Kakkoi is a word that 9 year boys use a lot to talk about manga. Adults use a slightly different version of Japanese, but what do I know? posted by KokuRyu at 7:50 PM on September 25, 2007
