A special treat from the Annie Awards on February 8th, 2008. The cast of Spongebob Squarepants redubs a clip from Casablanca. They are accurate to the script; which makes it completely awesome. via.

That was great. Would it be weird if I was inspired to start watching Spongebob because of this?

All kinds of awesome. That was great! Thanks.

Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) is superb. I also like how they worked Gary into the Casablanca bit.

Did somebody say Casablanca?

Once you have kids, all movies sound kinda like this.

Still utterly awesome though.

Best of the web? Check.

When I was in Mexico recently, watching Bob Esponga (Sponge Bob en EspaƱol) on the teevee, I thought there was nothing more surreal.

I stand corrected

I was looking on the annie awards site and robot chicken won 2 awards. Now, robot chicken is hilarious, but I never expected to win any awards.

Also, Patrick makes anything funnier

Those who missed it before should also check out the cast of Scrubs redubbing the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Unlike this, it's not true to the script.

Not nearly as cool, but, Spongebob Uber Alles.

Spongebob in China

His pants are actually parallelepipedal. And he has a sponge in them.

That was terrific.

The Spongebob in China was not funny, in fact the way most of the people I know work, it reminded me more of the US, which made me sad.

"The Germans wore grey, you wore blue..."

Now and for all time I will never hear Bogie say these words again, it's Spongebob from here on out.

I would pay good money to see the entire movie redubbed by the Spongebob cast. The very thought of Major Strasser with the voice of Plankton has me giddy with glee.

What's weird is that you already don't watch Spongebob. Spongey (as my daughter calls him) is fantastic and I recommend the show to everybody whenever I can.

Casablanca will never be the same.
