Max Koch - Impressions

Max Koch is a writer/actor who does a few impressions, the most notable being an uncanny Tony Soprano. Also worth seeing: Gary Busey, Jack Nicholson and Al Pacino. Audio NSFW.

'Uncanny Tony,' would be a great mob nickname. I'm just saying.

Is this where I leave my dinky little comments about what a talentless fuck this guy is?

Meta-precious.

I could do without the impressions, but I liked this

What's up with James Gandolfini's distinctive breathing? Is that something he developed for the Tony Soprano character, or does he always sound like that? Is that a medical condition, or is it just a quirk?

Ooh, a Jack Nicholson impression! Fresh!

His Gary Busey had me laughing my ass off.

His Gary Busey had me not doing anything to even remotely remove my ass. That was Gary Busey!?! Really!?!

Tony Soprano: Spot on, I thought. I hate to even admit that considering how bad the rest of it was.

His Tom Waits is pretty funny.

Soprano was good... a little over the top but got a lot of the tics down. The rest... meh. Seen better, and c'mon... Pacino and Nicholson?

The problem with his Busey (or any Busey impersonation for that matter) is that it fails to capture that sense of looming calamity that hangs over the real Busey's head like a cloud. That very real sense that he could snap and kill you with his bare hands at any moment. ANY MOMENT.

Also, wanna see my impression of Joan Crawford? Ok, here goes: NO MORE JACK NICHOLSON IMPRESSIONS, EVER!!!!!

Me I adore impressions and so I dig in this.

I thought they were decent.

For the haters, is it impersonations in general or just this guy?

If it's the latter, could you post examples of "good" impersonations?

He does a good Nick Nolte as well. And I have to say his Pacino is really growing on me.

Hoping others will share goodness here's some classic Kevin Spacey, with everyones favorite drama queen James Lipton.

I'm a fan of Frank Caliendo's impressions, myself.

though, I'm disappointed in him on MADTV; nothing holds a candle to his Comedy Central special (here, with wonky sound)

Jack Nicholson and Al Pacino impressions? He might as well also trot out a Christopher Walken, Bill Cosby, and Richard Nixon to nail all of the tired and uninspired impression staples.

His Christopher from the Sopranos was good too.

I also enjoy all the haterade on MetaFilter. Don't try too hard to impress us all with how boring you find this. Lamers.

He's Tony Soprano was good. His Pacino was pretty funny too. And the reading the comments from the YouTube thing... could have been funny, but it wasn't.

I have to go Brasso my 2cents now. Excuse me.

I wasn't taken with his Pacino, and his Jack could use some shine, but his Busey is perfect.

I preferred his Tony, although I don't ever remember T snorting the way he does. You think a mob boss could've gotten away with that?
