Fans of the 1962 Wold's Fair in Seattle should check out the "soundtrack" album, Attilio Mineo's Man in Space with Sounds. It's got a lounge-y, space-age sound that perfectly fits these photos. posted by Chinese Jet Pilot at 8:55 AM on November 14, 2008

Awesome post. I love World's Fair stuff. posted by isogloss at 10:48 AM on November 14, 2008
Thanks for this! Tossing in another World's Fair "soundtrack," there's The Triumph Of Man, as presented at the New York World's Fair, 1964-1965, by The Travelers Insurance Companies. WFMU has the whole thing as MP3s, and there's an easy-to-read "tracklist" on Discogs. For collectors of odd vinyl, it's packaged quite nicely, and the record itself is a lovely shade of red. I know it's a different (a)faire (heh), but the 64/65 fair post is a bit old now. posted by filthy light thief at 10:58 AM on November 14, 2008
Not in a gay way
Just in a hey, mate,
I want to say that you’re looking okay, mate.
Did I miss the meeting where everyone got together and agreed that "Grownups don't seem to understand. About the Gayway, I mean, and what it is to a kid," would pass without any comment at all? posted by rusty at 11:45 AM on November 14, 2008
I should have included a link to Century 21 Calling. One of the better MST3k shorts set during the Seattle World's Fair.

My mom went to this World's Fair! It was the first time she had a Belgian waffle. posted by crinklebat at 8:49 PM on November 14, 2008
