Another videogame character named Jumpman went on to bigger things after a name change.

Wow, CJP -- that Gamefaqs "review" of Donkey Kong sounds like a 13-year-old's idea of paleontology.

Playerman is immensely pleased.

Much more difficult than I had imagined. It is difficult to move consistently in the air or I just really suck at platform jumpers.

Too slidey.

Nuts. I thought you meant this Jumpman.

Let down twice. Was expecting some form of the unforgettable Jumpman. (On preview: Bummus beat me to it.) Then "PC download" turned out to really mean "Windows download." Feh.

And don't forget about this Jumpman.

Nuts. I thought you meant this Jumpman.

That makes three of us. somebody, somewhere (...smarter than me about such things...) has got to make a flash recreation of the C64 jumpman.

...apologies if its out there and I just haven't found it yet

Hey, I liked it. But then again, I had way too much fun squishing guys with the super ball. And it worked fine on my mac.

Wow, CJP's linked Donkey Kong review is wonderfully bad.

That makes three of us.

Four. The OP's linked game looks fun, but it's not Jumpman.

Also, everybody ready my new book, "Hamlet".

I didn't think this needed it's own fpp but i just spent like 20 minutes playing Idontevenknow which is probably 19 minutes longer than anyone should ever haha.

Wow, that's excellent. Keep playing, guys, it gets better and better.

I will say that the level editor on this is immensely satisfying.

Who downloads casual games anymore?

This game is cool.

That was spiffy. And the Windows version works fine with Wine on Linux.

The author's a good friend of mine. In case anyone was curious, he's the same guy who wrote this story way back.

Has anybody else seen the man-size pot leaves that make you explode into a million stars?

Has anybody else seen the man-size pot leaves that make you explode into a million stars?

If they had, would they remember? Idontevenknow is the win...

Anyone more web-savvy than I know how to share user-created games from this?

Awesome idea, looks cool, totally impossible to control. Still played through most of it. Grumble grumble.

I thought I was the only one yearning for good ole Jumpman. How can it be so difficult to find recreations of classic games??
posted by raider at 6:01 PM on February 21, 2009

That Idontevenknow link gets me a blank Flash applet. When I click on it, it takes me to mtv.com. I am confused.

I also was hoping to find Epyx Jumpman. The originality that went into that game was amazing, nearly every level had a unique hazard.

It seems it might be available for the Virtual Console in Europe. Curse you Nintendo and your idiotic region locking!

The kaleidoscopic levels are really trippy and confusing. The game got too frustrating though. TOO SLIDEY.

Has anyone made it through the level in Path 7 called 'Hope'?
