"Face on Mars" digitally enhanced to make it it look like an
ordinary mesa rock formation.
Of course, we know better...

I mean, the Sphinx on Earth was under erosion for an indeterminate amount of time, and to be honest, much of it looks stripped away and less than leonine. That could be the case here, too.
(In other words, loonies like me ain't giving up so easy.)
