This is my favourite post from Jacquilynne's wonderful Etsy snark blog (brilliant concept, wish I'd thought of it). The post headline (heh! she said headline!) made me laugh for minutes on end. posted by orange swan at 8:55 AM on July 24 [1 favorite]
That pillow is amazing. Stitching it probably took longer than just doing stretches until you could auto-fellate to your heart's content. posted by Forktine at 9:17 AM on July 24

OH MY LORD. My grandmother made me a set of these when I was a kid. So awesome to be reminded of them now. posted by Captain Cardanthian! at 12:00 PM on July 24

On a more sincere note, I am now very grateful to this blog for introducing me to this seller and their elegant metal and acrylic jewelry. Some beautiful designs, and they're all ridiculously affordable. And their earrings are almost enough to make me consider piercing my ears. posted by kosher_jenny at 12:26 PM on July 24 [2 favorites]

I sit, mesmerized by the Recently Listed page, until something catches my attention. It might be marked by the sharp intake of breath that means WANT! or a sudden tension headache, but something will eventually jump out of the otherwise repetitive mix.
I screenshot them and tag them and write some snark around them and save them for later. Once I get a couple of things that work the same theme, I'll often do a search to find one more to complete the day's set. I sometimes pick up a few more things in those searches than I can use immediately, so I save those for later, as well.
There's honestly no shortage of material on Etsy, though. You could do almost anything on the site that trolled you through lots of listings and find this kind of stuff. It's everywhere. posted by jacquilynne at 12:58 PM on July 24
Some days, I carry my Coach purse. Some days I carry my skull backpack. You'd be surprised how many people stop me and comment that they love it. Yeah, I requested it. Yes, my taste is questionable some days. posted by onhazier at 1:47 PM on July 24
@Greg Nog: Thanks! For whatever reason, I haven't poked over to Mefi Projects in... ever? posted by tamarack at 2:30 PM on July 24
LOVE this blog. Needs a submit button so fans can send you links on their Etsy wanderings when they stumble across something that makes them think, "WTF Etsy?!?"
Leading my personal WTF hit parade is this piece of somewhat NSFW jewelry couture.

The "Amish in the front, rumspringa in the back" comment nearly had me snorting milk out my nose.
I sent that one to a friend of mine who is a Mennonite. I'm sure she'll appreciate it even more than us! posted by orange swan at 4:54 PM on July 24
Oh no, that's terrible that you've been getting nasty e-mails. (Death threats! WTF?) I am sorry you had to deal with this, jacquilynne. posted by hurdy gurdy girl at 9:10 PM on August 10
