I liked this game more when it was called Galcon.
And I would highly recommend you try it and purchase it from there because Galcon was programmed by a single "indie" developer and Armor Games is probably making a lot of money ripping off his game.

Well I just lost two hours in that thing.

It was fun, but way too short and easy. I felt that the genes I picked didn't really make much of a difference. And the "you win" email was worded in such a way that I thought I had unlocked more levels, when in fact I didn't. Kind of disappointing, really.

Yeah, I spent a few minutes clicking around trying to find the prize competition. Definitely disappointing.
Yes, I spent my Thursday getting disappointed by a video game.

Ah I remember this. If run through it more than once, you can collect duplicates of the power up gene sequences and eventually max everything out.

Is there a way to restart the game and do it from the beginning, without the gene sequences already unlocked? I deleted my cookies but it didn't seem to work.

You have to find where Flash saves are stored on your machine and delete the .sol file from there. (It'll probably be called PhageWars2.sol or something similar.)

The whole genomic framework this is built on is supposed to be funny, right? Like, "...more powerful gene proteins..." and "...genetical modifiers..." and "Reproduction: How often the viruses reproduce with a cell." There's got to be some wink or smile or laugh track implied? Yeah, I'm going to go on thinking that's the case.
Otherwise, it's a fun little game. I like the achievements available at the Kongregate link posted above.

Simply put: It saves the virus to your computer.
