I am not flagging this because the bird is just so cute. I will show this to my Quaker parrot though, who will ignore it. Not enough sunflower seeds. Nothing personal. posted by Splunge at 9:53 PM on February 12, 2010
I don't get why Andy's owner wasn't laughing his ass off. posted by angrycat at 9:53 PM on February 12, 2010
dammit, I borked the last link for peek-a-boo... it's another indian ringneck though. posted by Cold Lurkey at 9:59 PM on February 12, 2010
My (Hyperactive but entertaining) Vizsla likes to play a game I call "Buzzing the Tower": He'll run around the yard full bore, and run right at you, and just miss as he goes by at like 400 miles an hour. You can practically hear him laugh like Maverick as he does it, too.
I love watching him to do it, it seems like a lot of fun. posted by Pogo_Fuzzybutt at 9:59 PM on February 12, 2010

Okay, you got me. Please stop now. That's too cute. posted by Splunge at 10:05 PM on February 12, 2010
Dammit, don't post videos like these. They really make me want to get a puppy, but I don't have money and I am very irresponsible.

What you don't realize about the Fetch Fail is that the dog is actually playing Keepaway for the Epic Win.
If it weren't for the slaughter rule, he'd never bring the toy back at all. posted by drlith at 5:55 AM on February 13, 2010 [1 favorite]
I had not seen the fetch machine before. I would so be building one of those right now if I had a dog. posted by localroger at 6:00 AM on February 13, 2010
I want an Andy. posted by cmgonzalez at 6:20 AM on February 13, 2010
Man, I wish I could keep my dog as easily entertained as Andy there. He loves the squeaky balls just as much, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to bring it back. It's not that he doesn't like chasing the ball, it's just that he likes eating them more. We've had to settle for playing keep-away instead of fetch. Two humans play catch and he acts like a ball retriever that only works if you yell at him in just the right way.
I was surprisingly amused by that first video. Once I saw the conceit, I thought it was going to be dumb, but somehow it charmed me. posted by ErWenn at 6:27 AM on February 13, 2010
Happy dogs make me happy. Their joy is infectious.
I must now add peekaboo parrots to that set of 'animals enjoying themselves so much it makes me happy' posted by sandraregina at 6:50 AM on February 13, 2010
They're rubbish, aren't they? I have to spot my dog my queen's knight before he even comes close in Chess. posted by Sparx at 6:59 PM on February 13, 2010
