Okay, I always hated Gomer and Sarge. HATED them. But put their shit up against the greatest cold war love song ever written (this millennium anyway) and man, like nola said, dry your eyes. But I'd probably feel the same if it was Cheney + GW, or Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. Actually, Rush + Glenn. Now there's a love that could destroy entire hemispheres.

Pretty well sublime. This person is an artist.

Thing is, though, Gomer was kind of a slut. He loved everybody.

I loathed Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle when I was a kid. Looking at it now I wonder if it was just some sort of internalized homophobia. It's not just that he's faggy and limp-wristed, it's that he's such a gullible victim. I think he was supposed to play as cute and endearing, but to me he was just awful. I feared the Sarges in my life.

Lovely video edit.

I posted a link to a live version of Soltero's I'll Be a Writer in my last post. The other songs Tim Howard sings in that series are Out at the Wall and Love Is a Rose. There's a bunch of songs on Soltero's MySpace.
