Eyezmaze: TRANSFORM
May 21, 2010 6:38 PM   Subscribe

A lion stalks the plains. It spots an antelope. His lunch, it would seem, is assured, except for one thing. This antelope... can TRANSFORM! It's another incredibly bizarre and awesome EYEZMAZE game. Click on the various parts of the antelope to make things happen, until he's safe from the predator's attack.

The faster your time, the more things you can click on after the end. "C" rank comes in at under two minutes.

I got an A at a time of around 1:21. It gives a nice "ending" sort of thing, but there is still something that can't be clicked on at that point. Maybe if you beat 1:20?

This made me yay.

1:16 still gives an A rank.

Aw. So cute. And mercifully for me, nowhere near as bewildering a time-sucking wonder as GROW.

1:13:99 is still an A.

3:29:89 Rank:D
Whatever the hell that means. Great fun, though.

OH MY GOD

If you beat 1:13:00 you get an "S" rank. Your reward for this is...

The game starts over UPSIDE-DOWN.

1:22 still an A rank.

To get an S rank, you have to optimize what you do. In a few places there are two different things happening at once, you have to have them going concurrently. <insanetalk>When you turn the faucet to fill up the lake, you need to click on the plug just before the lake is full, so you save a couple of seconds for the face to come out. After you wind up the key and the front half of the antelope is walking around the pond, there are several things you can do with the back half. And when the lump creatures come out of the ground, get ready with the mouse on the top of the stack of stuff on the back half, because the last few clicks are all in the same spot.</insanetalk>

The hardest thing about it all is the symbols that appear when making the lake bed. They're randomized each game so you can't just rely on muscle memory for that part, you have to pay attention. AND you have to remember them shortly after. That messed up a lot of runs for me.

1:12:49. Rank A. Can't click the spot on the ground. What's up with that?

Oh i do enjoy a good eyemaze game

My mistake darksasami, looking at the screenshot I took of the S rank game, it seems you have to come in under 1:12:00. All you get for an S rank is the upside-down version.

If you aren't leet enough to get an S rank:
Right after winning.
Before clicking last circle.
Upside-down Start screen.

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say antelope don't work this way.

Grar. 1:15 and I don't see myself doing better.

Well that was... odd.

Also: if Firefox crashes again while I'm playing that, I'll have to destroy something.

I'm a doctor of antelopology. This is how antelope work.

Durn Bronzefist: It takes some attempts before you can easily see where you can optimize. I'm surprised I got 1:11:49 really. The upside-down game is exactly the same except for orientation. I have no idea what happens if you get an S rank upside-down, and I don't think I can equal my rightway-up performance.

What. The. Fuck. Was. That?

Ack. Under 1:12. I gave it a few more tries, consistently got 1:13, and then squeaked in at 1:12:99. Grarrarrrar.

GAH. 1:12:09. That's it. I'm not reporting back till I've made sub-1:12.

So, uh. Goodbye, Metafilter.

What. The. Fuck. Was. That?

I think it's pretty obvious what it was. It was a game in which you save an antelope from a lion by clicking on various parts of it, causing it to turn, by various stages involving buttons, faucets, faces, flowerpots, balloons, dart guns, land-dwelling blobs with magic powers and leaves, into an oasis under which the lion can rest.

If you do it fast enough, it turns out there's another antelope inside the lion, obviously this being the way in which antelopes propagate.

Turn in next week for another installment of Batshit Nature.

Hey, 1:16 upside-down! Ok, I'm calling it a night. ...

... Except what happens if you get an S-rating upside-down??... ...

Woohoo! 1:11:99 upside-down. Ok, that's it for me. That was fun, thanks!

So, what happened on S upside-down? Does it just go right-side up again?

I enjoyed this a lot. Or, as an antelope might say: sudden TREE.

Got an A ranking. The game is amusing but I was hoping for something a bit more like EYEMAZE's other stuff, with their branching choices and all the surreal combinations that ensue.

doublehappy: " this'll be like when I found out I had been pronouncing segue incorrectly for years. My supervisor pointed it out to me and I pretended that I said it that way ironically. But she knew.

Sorry for this self indulgent seeg."

Oh! Oh! I used to do that too! I also thought that a-RYE and awry ('ow-ree') were two different words. Ow-ry still seems like it should be a word.

Data point: I heard "pot plant" for what I would call a "potted plant" quite frequently in Australia. Just don't make reference to your "flourishing pot plants" to a US DEA agent, doublehappy, and you'll be fine.
