Is it just me or is only the top three or four pixels of the 'click here' actually clickable? After making me wait so long for new music, you still feel like I need a challenge. I see how it is, Jose. I see how it is.

huh, yeah, didn't even notice that but you're right. Anyways, it's worth the challenge and signing up for the mailing list for the track 'At the Doors' alone!

Worth noting: They don't verify e-mail addresses.

But Jose's a nice guy, so you might as well give him your address.

I had to really try to "click here". Shame that in those five years they couldn't make a better link. That said, so far the EP is sounding pretty good. I hope Gonzalez can expand on the weird magic he had going with heartbeats.

Alright, I listened to all of it, and I have to say, I hope our generation gets over looping and super-repetitive music real soon. Saying different words over the same chords for 4 minutes is not great music.

thanks for the Jose update. Have you checked out Rodrigo y Gabriela?

I hope our generation gets over its insecurities about disliking things (I, for one, very much like disliking things!). Making up blanket rules to bolster what is purely a matter of taste is not great discussion.

I find González's output pretty bland (well, both pretty and bland, anyway—there's certainly a time and a place for it), but claiming that strongly repetitive structure in pop songs is inherently "not great" seems awfully silly.

I said I disliked it, and what I disliked about it. Sorry if the terms were too general for you, and that you had to drag insecurity into the discussion unnecessarily.

I love the tracks that he recorded with Zero 7 - I'll have to check these out. Thanks!

Whenever I think of José González, all I can think of is this.
Not that that's a bad thing.

If you don't want to signup for their mailing list, you can just grab the EP from here.

Not to be a downer, but didn't a single artist "I like this band, check out their new stuff" thread get deleted, like, last week? I don't have a strong opinion on the issue, and this seems like cool enough music to me, but now I'm confused. (And I don't want to start a MeTa thread if no one really cares.)

I think the free EP download justifies the post, but that's just me. Thanks.
