I'm probably the only loser in America to care about this. It looks like the days of listening to your favorite radio show (if it's a Premiere radio show at least) for free on the net are over. Goodbye, Phil. Not so sad about Dr. Laura though.

If this becomes a trend, I wonder if pirate "simul-streaming" will become the next big industry threat.

I've never listened to talk radio shows on the net, let alone paid for one, but if Lionel had a subscription feed, I'd be tempted.

Hendrie's almost worth it, but I can catch him on local AM.

hey, if it's worth it to you, then pay for it.

no biggie.

I think that Art Bell, because he's on late at night and many people who are fans are sleeping
during his show, is probably better suited to this than others.

That’s over 60 hours of Dr. Laura, 400% more than we have ever offered before.

Yuck!

I wouldn't say I'm the only loser, just the only loser interested in this.
I dunno, I listen to Phil Hendrie on a pretty regular basis, so I can see paying for his audio. Art Bell, however, I listen to very occassionally, when I'm in the mood to listen to people discuss vampires as if they are both real and a menace to society. But I ain't gunna pay 10 bucks a month for that. Oh well. I'm the opposite of most people. I can't listen to music in the background, I need it to be in the foreground of my attention. Talk radio iis a nice background for when I'm working.

Lionel... He was good back in the day, but now he is out-of-gas.

I get Hendrie and Bell on the radio here on the radio (970 WFLA, the place where Lionel got his start).

I'm just waiting for the best morning show to go streaming. Bubba the Love Sponge show

It should be noted that Premiere Radio Networks is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Great Satan itself, Clear Channel Communications. So this should come as no surprise.

But hey, let them charge, nobody's going to sign up anyway. I fully expect mass pirating of live radio to start soon; combined with the slow but steady influx of things like satellite radio, the days of lowest-common-denominator Clear Channel stations are numbered.
