Bah. I don't need this. I have cats of my own I could watch, if I wanted to watch cats. Why should I want to watch cats on the internet. This is stupid.

Ignoring the cat annoyingly meowing for more food next to me to watch adorable kitties.

If I had toddlers I would so do this with them. This is why I am not a parent.

They're going crazy now. Damn you jeather! Now I want kittens! (Despite the cat on my lap.)

Why isn't this a cable channel? You can't tell me it wouldn't get better ratings than most.

Honestly, I have so much fun during Puppy Bowl and Kitty Halftime, you think there'd be a spinoff channel with something like that running all the time.

Oh my lord - the wonders of the internet. 2 people were at possibly the same moment in time thinking, "cutest closeup of cat butthole ever." (well OK, maybe I was just thinking cat "butt" ... but still)

Aww, they have markings like our kitty.

This is going to be on my second monitor at work all day tomorrow. Then I will go get all the cats at the SFPCA, have to stay home to get them adjusted, stop going to work because my babies need me, and lose my job. Are you happy, jeather? Are you happy now? Arghhhhhhh!!

Oh wow, I'd forgotten how endlessly caffeinated kittens can be. This is fantastic.

About 14 years ago I took in a pregnant stray who subsequently had 6 kittens. I don't remember too much about it now, but I recall that they were adorable, tons of fun, and that in the end I told myself, "Well, now you've had that life experience so you never have to have it again. No, really, you don't ever want to do this again." Kittens are exhausting, especially when you don't have a separate room to devote to them.

And thanks Metafilter - I've already been a Penguin Cam addict for the past 2 months thanks to you. It would seem I'll now have another problem......

Well, freaking fantastic: there's a kitty-cam at the SF SPCA too. That's just great.

My life will be measured, from here on out, as neatly divided between two eras: BFKC and AFKC (Before and After Foster Kitten Cam). Before, I had to carry on pathetically with my own cat, the felines of friends and various You Tube videos that depict cavorting cats. So sad...... but now, I have Real! Live! Cats! all the time, and I am complete. Work will never be the same.

(This is great- thanks!)

I like how that one kitten decided to climb to the top of that 3-story-cat-platform-thing and then fell asleep there. That is such a kitten thing to do.

Snack time for kittens! I now know by listening rather carefully to the sounds they make, by the way, that I very likely have a mother cat and kittens living under my house / in my bushes.

This is like an infinitely more adorable version of my beloved penguin cam. I'm away from my kitties for a few weeks and this is a fantastic substitution.

Oh my, I really needed this. I miss my cats, which I said goodbye to over 2 years ago. For the first six months I lived in my new country I just longed to six on a couch, watch TV or pet a cat. It was mind-boggling how elusive those things were. (One day I got to do all three at the same time and it was so great but I almost lost my mind and never came back) Anyways, now I live in a house with several couches, Sky TV, and my housemate's dog. Which is great, but not a cat. So, in short, this livecam is really, really, really, really happy-making for me. Especially when mama cat looks around but forgets to put her tongue back in her mouth. Those are the things cats do that you forget about, but are ultimately the reasons why you need them in your life.

Miranda is beautiful... I really, really want a cat. My stupid husband gets to have stupid not-pet cat over in stupid Kosovo, while the strays in the neighborhood still won't come out from under the cars.

Beautiful, beautiful cat. If only I could figure out a surefire way to make sure kitty never claws the leather couch, I might be able to convince him.

This month's productivity report from the Labor Department shows a sharp decline. It has been traced back and correlated to the posting of the Kitten Cam on the internet. Congress is launching an investigation.

There is some kind of time loop going on in my house. My four year old has been staring at the kittens for a really long time. There has to be some kind of magic at work here because he never sits still for this long.

His big brother and daddy are allergic so this is as close as he'll get while he's living at home. I'll let him enjoy this as long as it's up.
