Pierce/Q is pretty spot-on.

Haha, man, I was hanging out with a friend who's one of the co-creators of this just yesterday -- it's so great to see more folks enjoying it!

Also Evil Abed as Lore is fantastic.

Too bad Morn was on DS9, he'd make a pretty good Star-Burns.

You saw it here first, folks.

wow, i never considered it before, but Data & Geordie ARE sort of the Troy and Abed of the Enterprise, aren't they?

Viewing a wonderful thing through a silly lens is always nice, and these two go together marvelously!

Abed/Data and Troy/Geordi seem obvious in retrospect, but the others are almost all pitch perfect as well.

More and more I feel conspicuously culturally illiterate for not having gotten into this show yet. I finally sat down and watched Arrested Development this year, I felt like I'd accomplished something, and yet, this.

leotrotsky, this post made me think of that twitter account as well (possibly because of that very comment?). In particular I was reminded of: "A planet of suspicious docents abduct Riker for their museum of amazing men. Geordi and Data are too excited to sleep at their sleepover."

It all makes sense now.

Starburns, or his son, is going to come back as Sub-Commander Starburns of City College. He'll hatch a plot to destroy the upcoming tranny dance only to be foiled by Troy reconfiguring the air conditioning system to thwart the evil plot. Abed will learn a valuable lesson about human interaction while he and Magnitude take the KFC RV shuttle to pick up balloons and streamers for the dance.

I'm headed over to usenet now to talk about how Shirley's son Ben is wrecking the show.

Wait. Why hasn't community done a Trek episode yet?

It's on the second and third rewatch that it really started to click for me - you start seeing the patterns, the setups for jokes two, three episodes out.

Wait. Why hasn't community done a Trek episode yet?

Because, as the FPP proves: They're all Star Trek episodes.

Just read the whole tumblr at lunch; The Inspector Spacetime/Sherlock Holmes one is GOLD.

Intriguingly, io9.com made the same conclusion...but six days later from Mr. leotrosky's revelation (in a review of TNG: Season 2 on Blu-ray)? Coincidence? Which, in turn, possibly inspired Tumblr Artist, Faith Erin Hicks, to create this image the VERY SAME DAY (capitalized for non-required emphasis). io9.com then as an update to that post posted the link to the tumblr linked to here above...which means, yes, FULL CIRCLE people.

Of course, the Troy and Abed in Engineering blog goes back to July...how deep does the rabbit hole go?

Just watched all of Community during November. I am itching to start a re-watch already. I don't think I've enjoyed any show this much since Arrested Development, and before that Star Trek TNG. This just made my day.

This also made my day. I can vouch that, on rewatch, Community is much like Arrested Development--it definitely rewards repeated, attentive watching.

What is semi-awesome is that, among the casts of long-ended series who have all gone their separate ways, the ST:TNG group seem to be 'hanging out together' the most. But what's the refuse-to-believe-its-canon-Enterprise-show captain doing among 'em?

Several months ago I mapped them like this:

Troy=Geordie (obviously)
Abed=Data (obviously)
Britta=Crusher (the "smart" one)
Annie=Troi (the "sensitive" one)
Jeff=Picard (the leader)
Pierce= Riker (the posturing blowhard who wants to be the leader)
Shirley=Guinan (the "wise" one)
Dean Pelton=Worf (the one who everybody is always shutting down)
Chang=Q (the weirdo recurring character/villain-ish person who drives plots and makes us question our assumptions)

MAKE IT SO.

My way is superior because all of the costuming works.

Yes I have little to do, who asked..
