Matt Kemp signs the ball of a young man who has 90 days to live. This kid has an inoperable tumor that has grown so large that it prevents him from being able to lift the ball he wanted signed. What happens next is beautiful.

It doesn't seem right to cry at a guy taking his clothes off in public. I know nothing about baseball but I don't need to to know that this is awesome.

He's makin' it harder to hate the Dodgers. Well done, Mr. Kemp.

I wonder if the guy was sitting there thinking, "OK, thank you, this is great, but you can stop now. Please, not the jock strap. Stop before the jock strap."

That was pretty cool.
The ball, hat, jersey and shoes should help offset the cost of medical care, too.

Seriously well played.

I like that he's so...I don't know, matter-of-fact about it. Like it's not a big deal or anything.

Oh, you wanted me to sign your ball? No problem.

Oh, you have a tumor? Here is my hat, jersey, and shoes.

Have a good day.

I need to go take a shower and I'm supposed to pick up some bread on the way home.

Rihanna should have stuck with this guy instead

His team had just been swept by the hated Giants (There will be a day, Mister_A, when your chirping will come home to roost. . .OK maybe not this decade). . . .so for him to do this, where he did it, just adds so much classiness to it all.

That struck me too, VTX. I imagine it's weird for him, on so many levels - meeting someone who has been handed a life sentence isn't an everyday occurence. Add to that that it's a kid - tragic. On top of THAT, it's one of this kid's dying wishes to meet you - it's got to be a bizarre perspective. Maybe that accounts for his seeming nonchalance? 'Cuz if you stop and think about it - REALLY think about it - it's just all too bizarre.

Rihanna should have stuck with this guy instead = THAT'S RIGHT, I knew the name sounded familiar to me. I forgot they dated!

This is like that stupid Russian dash-cam video from the other day insofar as they both made me instantly just start weeping at my desk, so, whatever.

WHATEVER, base decency of humankind. WHATEVER.

Heard about this video on the news while I was brushing my teeth. Read about it in the paper. Now I see it on the blue and I'm still tearing up here at the generosity and kindness and plain friendliness.

Very emotional video, and a very classy act on Kemp's part. As always, if you want to retain a shred of hope for humanity, DO NOT read any of the YouTube comments.
