Could you explain? I've never registered at this site - I found it through AltaVista...

Ok, some people are doing some really interesting shit with models:
This skin has on it a shader that makes it simulate an old spaghetti western feel to the character. Its wonderful. It really works. They even purposefully tweaked the sine wave that controls the texture motion to move so fast that some video cards and monitors won't be able to display it properly. This means it will further distort and cause it to look even more like a bad reception broadcast.

Surely SOMEONE has done a nude woman by now...

I had uninstalled my copy of Quake back when I was trying to free up disk space (before I bought a bigger HD), and just never had a reason to put it back on... but the Tick model is just too schweeet.

I uh, didn't have to register to DL it, either...

Well, this isn't far off. (Apparently a full nude "skin" is available for it.)

I might have known.

"What a perfect followup... I had just been going to post the NYTimes Magazine story on privacy in the Internet age, when I noted the SDB story I'd be following."

I'm assuming that was the link that he was talking about.

The fellow responsible is Paul Steed, who's been id's chief character modeller forever. He's been responsible for models such as crack whore, ClanPMS, and according to this interview, an entire "chick pack" of models for players to choose from.

Not that there's anything wrong or disturbing about playing a game where you shoot bloody holes in half-naked wimmins. Nope. Nossir.

Most girl skins should be available at Ophelia's Female Skins Site.

Note that it's important to have the skin files on YOUR computer to see what skins ANOTHER player has chosen to wear.

Hey I heard they made a "TV Pilot" for a real life Tick TV series. Non animated. Don't know if any of the networks scooped it up though. That dude that played Elaine's boyfriend on Seinfeild was cast for the pilot.

I hope it makes it.

SPOON!
