Great juggling. But sorry, you can't post "its business time" as a phrase, as this most perfect comedic music video totally owns it and I'm obligated to drop this

Its Business Time (slyt)

here.

Team building exercise 99 indeed.

I'm assuming it's an homage.

Oh, I know what you mean. Fortunately this is just a video of a trio of fresh-faced young men, playfully winding their limbs together in a hypnotic display of juggling ability. I remember the last time one of these videos got posted, it seemed a lot different, a lot more roughhousing and manhandling...it may have been filmed at a circus, because the whole thing was about a bear in a frilly skirt playing with balls. I think it was called Grizzly Madams? It was mefi where I saw it, right? Well, somewhere.

Anyone recognize where this was filmed? I'm having the darnedist time figuring out where the filmmakers (Kuma Films) or the juggling act (The New Conformity) are based.

Granville Island?

Glad I wasn't the only one getting Vancouver vibes here. Loved the choreography, but jeez, don't wear New Balances with a suit!

3m55s of the most clever ball handling you will see all season.

was kind of hoping for a nsfw tag.

God dammit, I have a conference call in 16 minutes -- and all the stuff I just crammed in to prepare for it leaked right out my damn ears when I watched this.

So. Hypnotic.

2 seconds in I was all "Is that Granville Island?" and indeed it is.

It's definitely Granville Island.

Man I've only been to Granville Island twice and that was where I guessed it was too... I guess there's something pretty distinctive about the place?

I want to live wherever that was filmed. And these guys do an amazing job of showing the beauty in simple forms. None of their patterns are very complex, but all of them are done so very well.

For the those keeping tabs on "Vancouver as Backdrop For Interesting Entertainment in Video Form" the video starts about here and proceeds around the corner to the left.

It feels like they got some inspiration from World Order.

I am not a juggling aficionado but I have enjoyed the art of Michael Moschen for many years.

I recognized the Vancouver jugglers before I recognized Vancouver. :-)

My favourite oyster taco place is not 10s walk from where some of that was filmed.

Now I'm hungry. Thanks, hippybear.

Yeah, I thought that was Yuki but wasn't sure. Then saw the Granville
Island buildings, and then those other guys sure looked like Ryan and Chris.
Awesome.

This is doubly interesting to me: I'm a juggler (strictly amateur) and these types of three-ball tricks are my specialty, though I haven't had many chances to do fancy multi-person routines. I'm also a computer programmer, and my first post-college job was at Environmental Criminology Research Inc. which at the time was literally on Granville Island.* One of the shots in the video was right outside my old office.

*I took the bus to work from the West End, but my co-workers from Richmond commuted by car, and had to go out before lunch every day to move their cars because all the parking on Granville Island is 4 hours max. Lots of great places to eat lunch, though!

(Unfortunately the only street performer I saw most days was the bagpiper who set up uncomfortably close to our office window and had a repetoire of about three tunes.)

This is some of the most entertaining juggling I've seen. And I've seen a *lot* of juggling; most of it doesn't impress me (even the technically mind-boggling).

The synchronization is very impressive, but also these guys do a great job of transitioning quickly from one trick to another, so you're never bored.

The technical level is only moderately high (excluding the synchronization), but the entertainment value is about as high as it gets.

A note on busking: it's hard work, and can be very frustrating (eg: that guy that's videotaping you; 9 times out of 10 he won't give you a dime, that panhandler down the street - he's making more than you).

Much respect.
