Cult favorite punk cabaret duo Kiki & Herb released a Christmas album full of spiteful brio years ago that's been nearly imposssible to find since ...That is until Kenny Mellman (Herb) put the entire thing on soundcloud.

Those Christmas shows would bring me so, so much joy.

If anyone has an extra ticket to the Kiki and Herb reunion show, PLEASE BRING ME!

It is also fun seeing Kenny play with Kathleen Hanna and The Julie Ruin, but that is a different kind of fun.

Holy shit this is amazing.

I don't know how I missed going to a Kiki & Herb show, considering I was a young gay in New York in the early 2000s.

It's over. What am I going to do with the rest of my day NOW? With the rest of my LIFE???

Also, Justin Bond has a new three-song recording Christmas Spells.

OMG! I LOVE KIKI AND HERB! I got their mammoth double album Kiki And Herb Will Die For You: Live At Carnegie Hall as a review copy a few years ago, and while I have never ONCE in the decade since gotten anyone else to enjoy listening to it with me (many make it about 15 minutes in and walk away in disgust) I find it to be an astounding document.

Hearing this has been posted, I'm endlessly thrilled. It might just be the Xmas music I need this year.

I have this on cd somewhere and have annoyed many relatives by playing it around the holidays.

Also Justin Vivian Bond once gave me some side eye for being a little too enthusiastic at a Kiki and Herb show at Fez back in the day. 10 odd years later she asked me for directions at the Lorimer L stop so I figure we're tit for tat now.

I'm going to have to pace myself at the reunion show to stay in her good graces because I will want to be VERY VERY ENTHUSIASTIC. Joe's Pub better get in a good stash of Alize.

Thier cover of "No Children" is superior in my opinion because that song was screaming to be a duet

I treasure the memory of the time seeing Kiki and Herb at the Great American Music Hall and Kiki, covering P.J. Harvey and singing out "Lick My Legs, I'm on Fire," climbed on the cabaret table where I was sitting.

Definitely in my Top 5 favorite Holiday albums.

Just now noting the meta-irony of these two Jewish characters (one of them a Jew-tard!) doing a Christmas album.

The K&H layers... they are like an onion.

Also Justin Vivian Bond once gave me some side eye for being a little too enthusiastic at a Kiki and Herb show at Fez back in the day.

I got the same side-eye (well, I was sitting 4th row center, so it was directly-on-eye) from Laurie Anderson when I saw her in Santa Fe on her Nerve Bible tour. I was so nervous for the rest of the show I didn't know whether I should respond genuinely or dial it all back 90% or what.

I can't wait to listen to this! I saw Kiki and Herb with my mom and sister on my 18th birthday, on December 26th 2001 (my sister's birthday, too. She was turning 22). Feels like an early bdaymas gift, yay!
