Last weekend The Stupid Shit No One Needs & Terrible Ideas Hackathon happened in Brooklyn. (Considering the first 'Terrible Idea' listed is 'Soylent Dick' please assume NSFW-ness) Vice.com and the Guardian have additional tawdry details.
Yes, it's related to the San Francisco Stupid Hackathon, previously here, held in May. It is not clear if they are looking for locations for August and November stupid shit, but somebody should.

1. You can't turn it off once it's installed, at least on Chrome on a Mac.
2. It completely disables any captioning you have on.
3. It makes Firefly better, if that was even a thing that was possible.
