The Game of Thrones Graveyard [Slate] [Spoilers] If you watch Game of Thrones, chances are you’ve watched the show kill off a character who mattered to you: a lord, a sellsword, a queen, a knight; someone you loved, or someone you loved to hate. It’s so hard to say goodbye, even when the deceased are fictional. That’s why we’re opening the Game of Thrones Graveyard, where the show’s most well-known characters rest for eternity. Buried in this sacred ground are brave souls who George R.R. Martin took from us too soon, likely by beheading them, filling them with crossbow bolts, slitting their throats, or all of the above. Others lasted far too long and died far too easily considering their depravity. But good or evil, they all touched our lives in some way. Leave a flower for a fallen character.

Oberyn didn't die, he just retired to an island, where he spends his life with beautiful women and men.

This Washington Post one is nicely done as well, though only up to date to Season 5.

Also, Beautiful Death has really excellent episode-inspired posters.

Considering that it's difficult to scroll on a phone without triggering flower dispersal and no way to cancel flowers, there may be a lot of floral regret going on.

Also, while, obviously, you shouldn't click for fear of spoilers, if they'd put the older entries at the top, the risk-inclined could have played "death spoiler chicken" with themselves, making it a game, too....

Who the f*ck is leaving those shitstain Freys any flowers?

I am going to miss Walder Frey.

In professional wrestling, there's a category of wrestler known as the "heel". A lot of people take "heel" to mean "villain" or "bad guy", but its more accurate definition is "the guy that people will pay money to see even a chance that he will get his comeuppance". There's an art to being a heel, and there are plenty of guys who are excellent villains who still don't have it in them to be heels.

Tywin Lannister might have been a villain, but he was no heel. Charles Dance kept my eyes glued on the screen because he was intensely charismatic and witty, but David Bradley brought me back week after week with the teasing possibility that maybe this week Walder will get what's coming to him.

There's guys you hate, and there's guys you love to hate.

I have (mostly jokingly) threatened to name my potential future offspring "Walder". My girlfriend has made it abundantly clear that attempting this would not end in my favor.

The amount of cognitive dissonance I have with Iwan Rheon playing both Ramsay Bolton and Ash Weston on Vicious... It even took me a couple of years to realize that they were the same actor.

He's apparently quite talented. I'm sort of glad he's free from the GoT contract. I want to see him do more new and wonderful things.

I know that it feels good to hate on Olly, but I can't help feeling that Olly is Arya might have become if she had fallen in with a group of racists who just also happened to hate the race that killed her family.

It's tragic that Thorne was a more effective father figure for him than Jon Snow, but I always felt bad for that poor kid.

I'm pretty sure they confirmed that Stoneheart was cut from the show entirely. Saw some speculation that the Stoneheart plotline (whatever that is) could be taken over by Melisandre after Jon sent her away in the most Stark-ian way possible. What, you're the only person at the Wall who can use magic with the White Walkers bearing down? Begone woman, for my morals are too pure for forgiveness!

Sorry, Jon is the worst strategic thinker on the show since Ned died. Unless Sansa is going to be the real power behind the reborn King in the North, I expect Jon won't have a long second life.

The casting of Game of Thrones has been so fantastic, so many brilliant performances. Some great talents have been revealed out of nowhere. And it's a revolving door. They come in, give their performance, their character dies, and they bring in the next. I look forward to the future careers of the graduate class of Game of Thrones who've had their roles killed. Which they will have because 'I was killed on Game of Thrones' is a great thing to have on a resume.

Jason Concepcion said it best about Septon Ray: Shouts to my dude Ian McShane, the best middle reliever in Westeros. He came in, threw 98 on the gun over three scenes, then died. The realm will never see his like again.

The one thing that drives me nuts about the North is that the overriding theme of the Night's Watch story is that the idea that the wall was to keep the wildlings out is false. The wall was to keep the White Walkers out, but they've been dormant (or just confined to the far north) long enough that the South was able to forget they ever actually existed, and so the opprobrium turned to those who, as I think Ygritte said, were unlucky enough to be north of the Wall when it was magically erected.

Jon and Davos and Melisandre should all be emphatically screaming at everybody who does the "SIDE WITH WILDLINGS?!?!" thing that they don't understand what's really going on and that the real battle isn't North v South but the living v the dead. Instead they almost always just sort of reiterate that it's okay to side with the wildlings or turn it into a referendum on Jon's trustworthiness or whatever. It's maddening.

Have you seen him as Barry Simon on Misfits? That was a terrific role on a terrific show. He also plays a guy who has to overcome his natural creepiness to become a hero, which might be extra fun to watch if you saw him on GoT first.

There's room for some more dialog at least, some of these scenes this year have felt like little more than highlight reels. Give me a scene with Varys and Olena scheming in Dorn, or a full scene with Bran and the Mad King instead of a rapid fire data dump. They could give us more content without watering down the plot.

I am pretty sure that they have done this in every conversation about uniting for multiple seasons.

The problem is that no one believes them because the Walkers are considered to be fairy stories.

It would be like trying to convince the EU to help strengthen and stay united with Greece against the threat of minotaur hordes emerging from Mount Olympus.
