(Almost) Every time [Justin and Griffin McElroy] say "BOY" on Monster Factory. A fan highlights one of the best bits in a keystone of the MCU (McElroy Content Universe).

In other McElroy related developments, My Brother My Brother And Me is being developed into a series on streaming service Seeso. Lin-Manuel Miranda directly talked about MBMBAM's influence on Hamilton backstage at the Tonys. And they're doing commentary for 100 Foot Robot Golf.

It took me a while to fully get on board the McElbros train, and it wasn't until the last couple of years that I'd started with MBMBaM and Adventure Zone. But I can remember realizing that I was at the ground floor of comedic greatness all the way back when Justin was just a cohost on the ooold Joystiq podcast ca. 2005, and I nearly crashed my car when he compared the conversation/romance dialogue trees in Mass Effect to (I'm paraphrasing here) an "Astronaut Jones" simulator.

Monster Factory is easily my favorite McElroy product, but another recent boy-riff that nearly did me in was the Chicken Soup for Boys goof that inspired the title of this episode of MBMBAM. (The specific Yahoo in question starts at about 18:55)

Monster Factory is easily my favorite YouTube series. It could so easily be mean-spirited, but instead it never fails to be about finding the beauty in these strange near-human creatures.

I finally started listening to the McElroy's when they were announced as doing the commentary for 100 Foot Robot Golf. I am deeply into MBMBAM and The Adventure Zone now.

(It's referred to in the Genius link but it's worth listening to the parody of "Fugue for Tinhorns" that Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote for the brothers)

Also I am excited for 100 Ft. Robot Golf. Roundabout had such a goofy, weird aesthetic and I'm pumped to see what Dan and Panzer come up with in the context of 80s and 90s Robot Anime Golf

My current project is ending, and my boss is heading from here to be the producer on the Seeso MBMBAM series. I'm hoping beyond hope to be brought along for that ride.

I've noticed a marked uptick in the use of "Boys" in other podcasts, especially video game ones like the Giant Bombcast, 8-4 Play, and the Retronauts. I think I've seen it crop up in The Flop House too. Not surprising, those McElroy boys have their fingers in a lot of internet comedy pies these days, and basically everyone is a fan of Monster Factory.

The two part Fallout 4 episode of Monster Factory (part 1, part 2) is the closest I have ever felt like I was hallucinating. It surpassed comedy, surpassed satire, and became something genuinely mind altering.

Oh, forgot one thing... Griffin released a soundtrack of his good good music for the last arc of The Adventure Zone on Bandcamp. The tracks as well as new stuff are also on his Soundcloud.

If you like Monster Factory, do give a listen to Cool Games, Inc. I will never stop saying "Tim McGraw's What If? Trucks: Fates", and "AFVR" might be the best idea for a video game I've ever heard.

I am just getting into the many thousands of podcasts these people apparently do, is there a good place to start with MBMBAM or particularly good episodes to check out? I already downloaded Adventure Zone!

Honestly, just pick a random episode of MBMBaM and you're pretty safe. Not a whole lot of continuity to catch up with the storylines or anything like that.

One thing with MBMBAM is that they've grown a lot over the years, and as they've said a bunch of times some of their early content can be pretty problematic. Their Youtube clips are pretty safe though. Some particular personal favorites:
I Am Amelie
Drop the beat, Francis
Hey Jeffrey
I Hate You, Ron
Blast My Cache
Giant Scott Bakula
Pizza Delivery Clone
Tit Liquid

I got a friend into MBMBaM solely on Griffin's delivery of "chunky chiefs of that sweet green leaf"

Also, no McElroy YouTube roundup is complete without Justin's Things I Bought at Sheetz, which you should watch from the beginning since it's surprisingly serial in nature for a c-store food review show.

If I ever stop cry-laughing at Monster Factory, that's when you know to pull the plug.

I don't know how old they are, but it doesn't matter: the McElroys are the voice of my generation. Their set of 90s nerd references always lines up with my remembered experience. Something something zeitgeist.

I first heard Justin McElroy on the Idle Thumbs podcast. I enjoyed his contributions so much I decided to look and see if maybe he'd done any other podcasting.

You know that scene in a movie? Where the main character makes a thing and tries to sell it and her friend calls up and says, "Check the store page right now! So many people are buying it! 435...436...!"

"Four hundred people have bought our thing?!"

"No, four hundred thousand."

Goofs! So many goofs! It's been raining goofs for 40 days and now I've got an enormous cistern full of goofs that will last me though many hot summers. How often do you find a new podcast you really like and then find out it has over three hundred back episodes? I'm still only just now gettin' it in twenty-doz!

I type a comment on the MeFi post, saying how much I enjoy the McElroys and how The Adventure Zone inspired me to DM a D&D game for the first time ever with my friends, and it was awesome, and then at the end of the comment I link to a website and what's the link, it's
