Websurfing? Yeah, there's fascinating stuff out there I knew nothing about this, happened on it while looking up heat damage on computer boards. Delightful stuff here, whether you're into it or not.

You know what ?

Im sitting today as usual at my desk, I have a very well paid corporate position. Looking at all this pictures of repair jobs of board my mind goes "hmm... i wonder what she charges for such a job.. let's say 200 $ ? and is a multi-hour commitment, boils down to - 30 $ an hour maybe - if and when the customer shows up again and so on".

Being jaded after so many years of this, I think no way I will even get out of bed for that money let alone take the business risk and so on.

And then suddendly a deep sadness takes over me.

Is it all what is left over of me after 30 years ? The reality reduced to viability calculations ? The world shrunk to an equation of few parameters that I can resolve super quickly and that are the base for me discarding options - the base that shapes my life. Then youthful lady-chasing surfing pennyless me has been hollowed out, like a star dying - no more shedding light but just reduced to a core no able to shine anymore.

And yet while I sit here ruminating on my self built prison (which has me as the only prisoner), outside there is a reality. Of people doing what they love and what they like to do. That dont have a meeting agenda planned out months in advance and god forbid you miss one step.

Just a tought on this Wed morning in office.

It's a big interesting planet, viewed through the Internet.

As noted elsewhere, the Total Perspective can be intimidating

"Originally created by its inventor Trin Tragula as a way to get back at his wife (who was always telling him to get a "sense of proportion"), the Vortex is now used as a torture and (in effect) killing device on the planet Frogstar B. The prospective victim of the TPV is placed within a small chamber wherein is displayed a model of the entire universe - together with a microscopic dot bearing the legend "you are here". The sense of perspective thereby conveyed destroys the victim's mind; it was stated that the TPV is the only known means of crushing a man's soul."
