OMG. I'm halfway through date night. Adorable! Her expressions and laugh are great.

There's an element of sweetness to many of these, but goddamn if I wasn't in tears laughing at the buggy horn.

My two favourites of late have been:

Getting a baby to sleep in public and the slightly creepy how to deal with a clingy toddler (who just wants mum).

Toolbox lunch is genius.

Glad to see that Bunnings has brought the glorious institution of the sausage sizzle with them to the UK.

I have that toolbox. First use of it was for my son's legos ( the small parts ). The 2 sided nature of that box is a lot harder than it gives it credit for. Imagine if your brain is not quite fully formed, and you are happily eating your snack and mom is looking away for a moment. And you just happen to remember there is a car you must look at right now is on the other side...

Basically, that toolbox is a recipe for picking cheerios, nuts and Jack Daniels bottles out of the carpet.

I wasn't able to enjoy any of the first four given the amount of subverted expectations (tho inflatable pub turned out to be them having a very good time). This guy refers to his wife as a beast directly and jokes about using a baby gate to keep her and the baby out. And then even though she clearly doesn't like the idea of the Buffy horn he keeps scaring her with it. She laughs, but those are not the laughs of someone who is actually enjoying having her work interrupted. He's just making this shopping trip take longer and I imagine she's hoping she doesn't owe herself the next time she is startled.

I wanted to like them, which is why I watched as many as I did. But no. Watchingnone partner have fun at the expense of the other partner isn't something I enjoy. God. The look of heartbreak when she saw there was no babysitter. That level of disappointment in their relationship is not new, based on what was written all over her face.

Lucky for her she didn't have a child with him and marry him.

Some of them are quite convincing, but the formula is so similar and the punchlines so neat that I'm convinced they're basically improv. Which takes away some of the charm, as does the hint of cruelty. I enjoyed the date night, the walker and the toolbox for being kinder and lower stakes.
