One Man Rush

I basically live for extremely detailed and faithful covers on Youtube. This is wonderful. (It doesn't hurt that I saw Rush on their final tour.)

The only thing I would change on this astonishing and awesome performance is for the crowd shots to be thousands of him cheering. :D

I'm so glad he included the piano at the end of "Spirit of Radio."

As time goes on, I feel like it was a mistake that I did not.

That was so good it was almost unbelievable. (By no means do I mean that I don't believe he did it, just that it's hard to wrap my head around one guy being able to nail all those parts so well.)

Thelonius, I hope that you got to see them at some point along the way.

Amazing. Turns out he's the drummer for Queen Extravaganza, the "official" Queen tribute band and has toured with Queen & Adam Lambert.

I wasn't convinced until he started singing, then I was sold.

I wasn't convinced until he started singing,

Geddy Lee's vox always struck me as somewhat of a weak link, so it's strange to see someone going to such trouble to emulate him ... and nail it.

And I gotta say, I think I like it.

Well, they are saying they are done. I slowly warmed up to them over the decades, starting from "RUSH SUX" in high school, but I seem to have failed to catch their show.

I don't think Peart's body can take touring anymore. That's the main limitation.

“Final tour”? D:

If you liked this, you should definitely check out YYNOT, who have covered several songs off PW, including most recently "Natural Science". They've also done every song on Hemispheres.

Honestly (and I say this as a huge fan), Geddy's voice simply isn't what it was and hasn't been for a decade, even though they tune down on some songs. He's managed to developed some sort of eyebrow-powered method for hitting (some of) the high notes, but it sounds very strained.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to deny that his voice sounds pretty bad in the live stuff of late. Like… for at least a decade now.
Mostly, I just want them to have another studio album other than Clockwork Angels to be their last album because I didn't think it was their best effort

And yeah, this guy sings like if Geddy Lee were young again. I think I may actually like his Rush Singing Voice better than the actual Geddy Lee's Rush Singing Voice.

I am broadly indifferent to Rush and I enjoyed this tremendously. Thank you, OP!

Beyond skill in accurate reproduction, showing each instrument played during each song makes this priceless.

eyebrow-powered method

that's Zappa

Sometimes I feel like I could conquer the world, and some days I watch videos like this which provide irrefutable evidence that, no, I cannot.

How the hell did this dude nail the vocals like that? And Jesus, excellent drum skilz. Peart is hard to pull off, and he looks just like Peart while doing it - relaxed, just hanging out, enjoying the show.

Jealous.

Fairly impressive. As mentioned, whether you like Geddy's vocal style is one thing, but re-creating it faithfully is something else.

Wow, that's a super impressive achievement.
But I feel compelled to mention my preferred Rush drum cover, done by a 16 year old German girl.
(Bonus track, because I'm a sucker for cymbals.)

There's also this pretty impressive one-girl cover of YYZ on an organ. (She messes up the Morse code rhythm on the foot pedals, though.)

He's playing drums right-handed, but guitars left- handed.
