The Cold Never Bothered Her Anyway

"Frozen" drag queen helps police van break out of snowbank "A drag queen dressed as Elsa just single-handedly freed a stuck police wagon from a blizzard in the middle of March. If that sentence doesn't perfectly encapsulate the spirit of Boston, I don't know what does." (Video credit: Christopher Haynes). SLTwitter

Or I could read the title.

But really, this is so silly-great. Although if you're sitting inside filming, maybe you could help. Just a thought.

Having dealt with Boston cops, I wish she'd encased them in a block of ice.

maybe getting them on down the road is better than having them mill about where you're at?

There's one guy about halfway thru who steps up and offers to help, but by that time she's all "I've pushed this thing half a block by myself already and I'm almost done so that's okay."

A couple times when the going looks difficult, a few wags in the crowd say "let it go!"

Oh, I don't know, maybe if we're nice to the police we can win them back to our side?

Missed opportunity. Elsa may have been shifting a police van while wearing high heels, but for full points it should have been done Ginger Rogers' way: backwards, while wearing high heels.

I like that she pauses once, hitches up her skirt, and keeps pushing. TV be damned, that’s my inage of the real Ma Ingalls gettin’ shit done on the prairie.

I had a phone meeting with a pair of vendor reps scheduled for after my lunch break today, which I spent watching this video. At 1:04, I went "oh shit," and dialed in. These meetings are typically extremely dry, but I was so enthralled my greeting was, "Sorry I'm late! I was watching a video of a drag queen rescuing a police van in the snow!"

Silence from the reps (with whom I have had no previous dealings). Then they both burst out laughing and said, "Oh, we're going to get along fine!" "Really? Where? How cool!"

"the spirit of Boston" - since it involves awful driving, yes.

I too want to applaud the Elsa costume-wearing Mr. Tripplet for rising to the occasion, but this "spirit of Boston" framing does remind me a bit of Dan Quayle trying to redefine "Hoosier."

I saw more about this story this morning. Seems “Elsa” did this to amuse buddies inside the restaurant, which is also why nobody pitched in to help.

Looks like things will be snowy for a while, and now I’m thinking I need to up my snowblowing game with festive attire.
