No time to binge watch? Too busy to catch single episode? No problem! Just take in a compilation/montage/supercut/marathon video and be on your merry way! Not to be confused with the hair salon, thanks winterhill. Nick Offerman may or may not reply to your fanmail with a signed, and not un-sexy if you're into that sort of man with tools thing, photograph.

Mine, which I have no idea if it is unique or not, reads as follows and hangs in a place of pride in my little shop:

To Bacon!
Nick Offerman

I gave P&R a try after watching just the Ron Swanson bits on YT, and I have to say, I prefer the latter. That, and Andy of course.

But Rick and Morty? The only compilation worth watching is the unabridged stream of episodes! Scientifically proven to contain about a hundred jokes per episode. Now who would want to miss that?

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Riker sits down

I don't what exactly it is that Riker does, but it has little resemblance to sitting down.

Supercuts are such an interesting way to abstract video! I think it's so cool that a whole new thing emerges when you isolate an element that repeats over too long a timescale to appreciate naturally. (See: the Trump "China" and "Billions" videos, or like the "Let Her Go" supercut.)

Makes you wish we made digital tools to make this a fluent part of digesting media! The way that putting an index at the back of a book is often useful!

If I recall correctly, he had some issues with his back and this is the only way that he's able to really sit down. Or maybe that's some made up Internet bullshit, either way, that super cut has always delighted me.

Note to self: write Nick Offerman a fan letter*.

* For amusement, include picture of self in own woodshop or local lumber yard.

My favorite supercuts are MLB cuts of amazing plays, bench clearing brawls, funny moments, or opposing players showing mutual respect for each other.

A guy I know put together this compilation of every time they say "Karen" in Goodfellas.

"Rizzoli & Isles" teased its lesbian viewers with Jane and Maura flirting over dead bodies, gazing longingly into each others eyes, but never let the women achieve Rizzles. Fortunately, "Mrs & Mrs Doctor Detective" cuts the episodes down to what we really wanted.

I am upset because the internets doesn't seem to have a proper Ron Swanson giggle compilation and that is an outrage. The man has a delightful giggle.

I really love the Riker supercut, but that can't be complete, can it? (I especially love the second / third one, where he straddle-sits in the ready room and then cuts to him getting up, looking like the film has just been reversed.)

Cut down Rizzoli & Isles? Then you'd miss Giovanni. Oh wait, no one really misses Giovanni.

(But "I wanna lick your face" is occasionally bandied between me and my wife, because we forgot the "get naked and" part ... which is probably for the best.)

I've always wanted to do a supercut of Aaron Sorkin characters haughtily reciting their resumes, but what with the Harvard fellowship and astronaut training it's hard to find time.

24-ish repetitions of "It's bigger..." on Dr Who? And I get complained at for thinking the new series isn't very good and is complete and utter shit at about the time of the intro of the sonic sunglasses onwards, but writing/fan wanking like that gets a pass? Agh. Why hasn't Moffat been the victim of a hideous and fatal industrial accident?

Ryker. Ryker, Ryker. The only thing that could make you look more like a total dick is if you were to grow a beard.

That bus supercut is every kind of awesome.

Along with the Riker sit, let us not forget the Riker Lean (in gif and supercut-ish forms.)

As others have said, both are due to a back injury (link to previous reddit discussion thread where wil wheaton amusingly confirms this)

I did not realize how much of a trope getting hit by a bus had become.

How is the trippy Teletubbies supercut different from a normal episode of Teletubbies?

Clarifying point: My exposure to Teletubbies is solely through watching it while coming down from acid in the 90s. God Baby could be a little overpowering.

I do a NSFW version of the Bartlet jacket flip while putting on my bathrobe in the morning. I am supremely glad there is not supercut of that.

Tropes On A Bus (yeah, you know what website that is)

I once knit Nick Offerman a rainbow handkerchief after seeing one of his shows, but never got up the nerve (or found an address) to mail it to.

The hit by a bus supercut never ends.

I like all the examples where there's no way in hell the bus driver couldn't have seen the person they hit, implying that the bus intentionally hit them out of spite or something.

I was doing some remote bushwork last summer. One afternoon I went into another guy's camper trailer to wake him up from a nap. The only thing on the wall was a signed picture of Offerman holding a chainsaw. The text read "Dear Will, Thank you for your letter. I too prefer to do all my correspondence by typewriter. Sincerely, Nick."

I didn't ask any questions.

I've never watched an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but I do watch the McPoyle compilation with a near-religious frequency.

*Goes to YT, looks for “Hawkeye sniffing his food before eating on M*A*S*H” supercut. No dice.*

Supercuts are bullshit.

For the three people who don't know about it, "Too Many Cooks" has all the goodness of a supercut though it's in the form of a single 80's network show opening credit sequence spoof (all 11 minutes of it).

Just as Shakespeare's the sole playwright recalled by many current-day people, this may be the sole artifact of early 21st century culture to project forward to distant posterity.
