"A comedy podcast about things that are actually sad."

The Alice Fraser Trilogy is a series of three stand-up specials where Australian comedian Alice Fraser tells the story of when her mother died, with digressions into her past and other subjects. It's available as a podcast [iTunes link]. For regular listeners of The Bugle, Alice Fraser will be familiar, but for those who aren't her comedy is a mix of absurdism, earnestness, wordplay and pessimism.
She also has the fantastic podcast "Tea with Alice."

I'm trying to enjoy this but there's a big VRRROOOOOT noise where they've cut it.

She's also got a wonderful (Hannah Gadsbyesque?) special up on US Amazon Prime.

As far as I understand, the middle part of the trilogy (Resistance acts one and two) is the same as the special on Amazon Prime.

The first hour is just the recording of a performance. They're doing some stupid editing thing on the second one that I don't understand and it's not working for me. I hope the third hour is less annoying in this respect.

The editing is much more judicious in the third hour. I'm glad I listened to these. Her look at the world as a rolling wave of absurdity and sorrow really meshes with me, and I laughed out loud several times which is always a sign of good comedy when listening alone in the house.

Do not confuse this with the "Tea with Alice" Youtube thing I just googled up.
You want the Tea with Alice (itunes.com link) audio podcast by the person who did What are we doing? | Alice Fraser | TEDxMacquarieUniversity (which is a video version of part of the same standup podcast this post is about?)

Can't wait! Alice Fraser is terrific on the Bugle. Hopefully she doesn't sell out to Big Smurf.
