Anoushé Husain is a British civil servant and paraclimber. She recently founded Paraclimbing London, and has received a Points of Light Award from Downing Street. On her Instagram account, she documents her daily life as an amateur athlete with multiple disabilities.

The most visible disability is that she has one-and-a-half arms, but Elhers-Danlos syndrome seems to have bigger impact on her life and climbing.

The Blind Hour podcast interviewed Husain a little while back as well.

"Ms Husain, we are cutting the funding for your department by 90% next year because we are scared."

*Picks up lump of coal on table with prosthetic arm*
*Steely hand closes with a smooth whine on coal and stays closed for five seconds*
*Hand opens revealing a large diamond*
*Icy cold smile*

Ah, Anoushé works in the same government department as me. She wrote the featured article on our intranet just before Christmas, all about living with EDS and about climbing.

My partner has a less severe case of EDS, but I know what kind of challenges it can pose. Anoushé is amazing.
