“I have become a soup of the people”

The Cycle of Life is a short animation by u m a m i that is something like an advertisement, full of melancholy and unsettling strangeness.
The soup appeared in previous u m a m i animation The End of an Era.

I am strangely chastened, yet also heartened by the message of the soup. It is unquestionably true that I, the lowly consumer, will be forgotten long before his name fades, yet his continued existence as provider of essential vitamins and delicious nutrients gives hope for that future which I will never see.

Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup has taught me a valuable lesson this day.

This puts me in mind of the online video animation scene in the early 2000s. How I miss that gentle weirdness.

Interesting that the most-viewed video on u m a m i's YouTube channel is "Thomas the Thermonuclear Bomb". It says a lot about YouTube culture.

Campbell's needs to make a deal with the artist and run with this. Life would be better if advertisements were strange and dark and surprising.
